Construction time lapse - Day 5

Today was a more active day around the build site.  Lots of cars, trucks and people in and out getting things done.

The cycle of software

Tonight I found myself looking for scripts or a software application to install to help me move some data from an old hard drive.  This drive had some pictures and documents that I wanted to keep, and no it was not backed up ... but that is another conversation.  The drive is special ... well not in that way, but that it came from an old Mac and is HFS+.  So HFS+ is not seen by Windows without a driver, but Linux can see and read the disk just fine.  Okay ... I will save all those details for another post.

So, why did this spark me to write this post.  Well, I was able to find a driver for Windows that could read HFS+ drives and I remembered using a GUI for RoboCopy.  But even if I could find it would it be up-to-date?  If not, would it run on Windows 10?  So that got me to thinking.  Windows, Mac OS, and Linux are ever evolving and so are the apps that run on them.  So is an application ever done, ever complete?

Construction time lapse - Day 3

It was a slow day today, but a few came out to work.
